Beautiful casita! Quiet, clean. Especially appreciated the creature comforts: luxury linens, nicely outfitted kitchen, etc.
Comforts of a fully furnished quiet casita an easy walk from all Santa Fe attractions.
The Casita was a great get-away. We parked the car and walked to the plaza. Some of the properties along the walk could use the same attention to maintenance that this property has had, everything else was perfect. I'm glad I chose this place for my stay in Santa Fe.
I have already referred someone to you. You have been very good to stay with in Santa Fe.
This area is a well kept secret in Santa Fe which is very secluded with a great patio. The interior is very Santa Fe contemporary with authentic Mexican tile. The spacious bathroom and shower was great and so was the kitchenette. The only thing missed was a dishwasher. This location makes walking to several favorite destinations including Guadalupe and the Plaza an option.
great shape, clean with a great atmosphere. The rental was in a great location, close to down town.Vacation staff responded very quick to our calls when we were makingreservations, and or asking questions.I would recommend putting directions on the print out sheet coming fromDenver (or just a general direction) The ones we received were comingfrom the airport, which did not help us.Otherwise, we had a great stay, and didn't want to leave!
quientessential santa fe .No need to battle for parking as just a couple blocks from the Plaza in a quiet historical neighborhood. The courtyard provided privacy and the hot tub heated up in no time. The casita had it all There was even a teapot- so hard to come by when traveling for us teadrinkers.
Ortega is a beautiful casita. It's well furnished, and we always notice its well stocked with the little things: kitchen utensils, TV, DVD player, mini stereo...with ipod dock. Don't compare this to a hotel room, its much, much more. The location of this unit is also worth mentioning. It's three short blocks from San Francisco and Guadalupe where the fun begins. Park you car for the weekend.
This is a wonderful little place w/in a 5-10 min walk to the plaza in Santa Fe. We stayed w/ another couple and had a great time. The jacuzzi and outdoor fireplace are wonderful and as we had the entire place to ourself, we didn't have to share it. We used the grill for dinner and the kitchen had everything we needed. The sleeper sofa was fine and the space was adequate, though not super spacious. Also a washer/dryer for post skiing clean up.
We have stayed here the last 3 or 4 times we have visited Santa Fe. The casitas are even closer to the new railroad district with interesting shops and restaurants. The casitas tend to be small, some are quieter than others. Parking included.
Power went out in our unit the first night. Turned out the a/c was run on a regular extension cord to an outlet across the room because the a/c outlet had burned up; repairs scheduled for after we left. Considering this, and that it took us hours to get any help, we should have been told where the fuse plugs were located. Surely management knew a burnout was very likely. Other than that, enjoyed our stay.
The only thing that would have made it a bit better would have been communication between the three property managers. None of the three (Tatiana, Gordy senior, Gordy junior) knew what was happening during the reservation process. It all worked out fine but there were several extra calls that would have been avoidable if some communication between the three would have happened.
We enjoyed being close enough to walk to the Plaza. Although it was pet friendly, the courtyard doesn't have grass, just stone and beds. The inside was very, very cute and clean. We would have like a fan or AC in the bedroom. And the landscaping needed to be weeded. But for the price and location, it was really a nice place. The neighborhood is a mix of nice and not so nice places.
We did this a few days ago for the place we were to stay and then switch to Ortega. Please see that review. Please note: there is no e in Flossmoor
Within walking distance of Plaza and hip, upcoming Guadalupe Railroad district.
the unit was clean although the AC was not adequate for during the day. We had to keep the provided fan running for ventilation. Parking was very tight and the neigborhood was close to plaza although the area looks a little rough however we had no problems and the area looks to be improving. i would stay there again so I was not turned off by it.
Could you pass this on only to the owner/managers please? It's not necessary for the guests to see this. Koi pond is scary - filthy and unkempt. I felt sorry for the couple of goldfish/koi trying to breath in the muck. Lots of train noise. Great parking. Beautiful compound. Family next door left their 3 dogs alone with the windows open. They barked nonstop on our last day. No coffee or filters, sugar or sweetener, creamer. Couldn't make coffee until we went to the store the second day. Not enough drinking glasses. Oh, and someone named Roger wrote a note to you on the back of your sheets of services available in Santa Fe. Guess he couldn't find a scrap of paper!? I thought that was rude of him. Casita remained really stuffy/hot. The weather was hot and leaving all the windows open helped a little, the AC helped a little. But it's an old traditional adobe.
Property was nicely furnished. The airconditioning was very weak, and did not really cool the entire apartment , esp the bedroom. We had to go out and purchase an oscillating fan at Wal-Mart, which we left in the apartment. Also, didn't know there was no dishwasher. Otherwise would recommend again.
The little house was cute and clean. Very private. We only saw one other person during the stay. The lamp in the sitting/reading area was not working. This was a nice little place to stay in Santa Fe.
There were problems with the washer, otherwise, the place was great.
just too cramped for 2 parents and teenage son (pull out couch uncomfortable). no fresh air, had to have ac on constantly. Adorable, yes, great location, yes, easy to make reservations, absolutely. Perhaps screens and operating windows would be an improvement.
the company, luxury casita randomly switched units on me without giving me forewarning. they kept insisting that the new unit they gave me was somehow an upgrade from the original one I had booked, though neither the website pictures nor the prices reflected this said upgrade.moreover, the company just flat out refused to compensate me for this change--hung up on me once while on the phone and have just not returned my emails.it's unfortunate, and I understand that sometimes things happen that are out of our control-- but a simple note/apology and a small refund or something are not that hard to give.
