The location of the unit is very convenient to the plaza area. The unit is attractive and comfortable. We would definitely return.
It's a very nice unit--spacious; clean; well-appointed, including large bottles of shampoo, body wash, and conditioner; comfortable--and the owners are very attentive and accommodating. The only issue we had is that the unit's only TV is small--although it has a built-in DVD player and the owner provides a half a dozen DVDs to watch. The size of the screen is not a huge issue if you sit at the living room table to watch TV. However, if you want to relax on the fold-out couch to watch TV, the TV is about 11 feet from the couch and it's mounted high on the opposite wall, which makes for awkward viewing.
We loved the casita and we spent a lot more time there than we would have at a hotel because it was so nice!
Wireless internet did not work but otherwise the place was great--great location, decor, and ambiance and I would definitely rent again.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. However, a few items were missing that should have been provided: extra toilet paper, light bulbs, saran wrap, drier sheets.
The Casita was a bit dark. The couch cushions kept sliding forward...a little annoying. There was no way of knowing the TV stations...a printed list would be helpful so one does not have to keep going back to Ch. 19 to see what is on...I was there alone and TV was important in the evenings... I hope you have a place with more light for the future....all in all, the ammenities were lovely...the bed very comfy! How about some sugar and coffee filters...basic and necessary! NO soap in the shower, however! I would still definitely rent from you again regardless of these minor annoyances....
We were very pleased with our stay at the Casita Romero. It was very clean when we arrived. It has sufficient and high quality linens, sheets and towels. The kitchen has all one needs to prepare meals. The furniture is comfortable. Our only complaint is the narrow parking space but at least there is available parking. The casita is within convenient walking distance to the Railyard, restaurants, stores, and the plaza. I enthusiastically recommend the Romero casita!
The casita was absolutely perfect! It was comfortable; stylish and had every amenitity that you would wish for. The location was great. Close to the plaza, but away from the noise. I told my sister about & we would like to visit sometime next January. Thanks for everything!
we had a great time at casita romero. i especially liked the location and the decor in the apartment. it was great to be able to walk downtown and to the shopping center. the apartment had lovely appointments in the santa fe style. the pull out bed was not adequate for additional adult sleeping. we would rent 2 casitas in the future. tim, your property manager was very helpful in trying to fix our dryer which never really worked and providing a comfortable bed for my cousin. we look forward to returning next year.
This casita was truly a short walk to central Santa Fe and the Plaza. Very comfortable. Would book it again. Only complaint: There are several units in the compound and parking spaces are not assigned - they should be.
The property was just as described in the online listing: convenient to attractions, tastefully decorated, well-supplied, easy to live in. All staff, from rental agent to housekeeping, were pleasant and helpful (and Carlos was very patient!) All in all, a satisfying experience.
Great location - short walk to the plaza and very nicely appointed. Heating system was a bit of a challenge during our very cold stay.
We had some minor issues with a couple of things in the house. First, we couldn't figure out how to turn down the gas heater but mostly that was ok since it was 7 degrees at night! Also, one of the curtain hooks on the bedroom curtains fell off for no apparent reason and the toilet tank stopper would stick causing the water to run until we noticed it which is bad when you are living in a desert region! Other than those minor inconveniences we really enjoyed the place. The manager was very gracious and helpful. The hot tub was excellent in the snow!!
THOSE CASITAS ARE CALLED LUXURY AND IT MAY NOT BE THE CASE THEY HAVE BEEN REFURBISHED IN A FASHION THAT PLEASES A LOT OF TOURIST IN SANTA FE. THE SHOWER ROOM[NO BATH] IS VERY SMALL BUT THE REST OF THE FACILITIES IS EXTREMELY PLEASANT. KITCHEN WELL EQUIPPED OF NEW HIGH QUALITY APPLIANCES. THE TWO GAS FURNACES ARE EASY TO OPERATE AND WELL MAINTAINED AND VERY EFFICIENT.THE PARKING OFF STREET NEED TO BE ASSIGNED TO EACH SPECIFIC CASITA SO NO CONFUSION BEETWEEN TENANTS.WE ENJOYED OUR STAY ESPECIALLY THE LOCATION VERY CLOSE TO THE PLAZZA.
Someone in one of the complexes was a smoker and throughout the morning and evening, you could really smell smoke. I emailed the original person I had booked through, but never did hear back from him.As well, area a bit sketchy and directions to get to it on the site weren't specific enough.
Nice place. Thought the hot tub was going to be a private one but it's shared with a handful of bungalos. Overall a very nice place to stay.
We thought it was a good location, would stay there again. Comfy bed!
The recent 3 night stay at the Casita Romero was, overall, a good one. They were slow and the rate was adjusted accordingly, no complaints there. The good: looks just like the photos, actually seemed larger than online. Great bed, as good as my 2000.00 Beautyrest Black mattress at home. Nicely decorated. QUIET dead end street close enough to easily walk to the plaza. Cable, internet and stereo system compatible with my ipod. The BAD: Hot tub is kind of worn and was in need of service on arrival, they had someone there immediately after I notified them but it was still a little funky 2 days later. Gas grill did not function correctly, I had to mess with the connections to get dinner cooked. The windows lacked screens on some and locks on some of them I felt a little exposed but really needed the ventilation. No screens on the doors either. Kitchen lacked enough plates, etc. These are maintenence issues that could easily be fixed if attention was given. I'd go back.
The description of the outdoor amenities, give the impression that the hot tub and outdoor fireplace are private, we were disappointed to find that it was a community hot tub and felt that it should have been more obviously stated in the description.
It was cold until the pilot lights were finally lit. The location was good in that you could walk to many places. There was ample room here. If everything had worked, it would have been a really nice place to stay. There some touches like fluffy bathrobes and a nice kitchen. Had everything been working, it was good value for the price. We also left an item in the casita by my mistake and when we called they said it was not there and had not been found.
The property was convenient to Santa Fe center. The furnishings and amenities were tasteful. We enjoyed cooking our meals there. The property manager was very helpful and in touch with us promptly by telephone. The location was quiet and peaceful for sleeping and retreating from the many activities of Santa Fe area.
We did enjoy the Casita -- wouldn't consider it for a long term rental. The shower was just unacceptable -- low pressure. The bed was great and the kitchen nice although we didn't use it.
I was generally satisfied with the property. However, I had originally rented a property with a view, and due to a glitch in you on line reservation system I had to change to this one. Alsom y credit card was double billed for the rent. The staff was courteous handling these problems, but they were still a headache. There was misunderstanding with my neighbor of assignment of parking spaces, which I wish could have been avoided. Kitchen amenities were sparse, but we did only minimal meal preparation. Water flow in the shower was weak. The bed was comfortable, and I liked the Southwestern decor. Overall it was a good value for the money.
The location was nice ~ close to town & within walking distance to town. The advertised hot tub could not be located as we searched twice around the home, although we did find a hot tub key on our way out the last night. The property was very dirty with dirt on floors, dusty tables / appliances and a dirty bathroom. The bed had bodily fluid stains on the sheets & comforter and hairs all over the pillows/sheets. The linens looked as if the were not changed only remade. There were toenail clippings on the living room coffee table. The property looked as if it wasn't cleaned after the previous tenants vacated ~ only fresh towels and remade bed. We tried to contact the management company but only got a recording that their voicemail inbox was full and we could not leave a message. We ended up leaving after 2 nights of an extended Labor Day Weekend. Management was unresponsive to emails. We do not have an axe to grind with this owner/company as it could have been great if it were just cleaned. We just simply wanted a nice clean place to stay. The stains on the sheets/comforter were too much for us and we left after only 2 nights of sleeping on a bare mattress. This appalled us and would be unacceptable at a $59/night hotel let alone a $200/night rental home.
