Exceptionally comfortable bed and linens. Great location. The hot tub was shared with several units, but it was always available. The only downside was a shower with no water pressure. Still, it is high desert and conservation is important. Although the utensils in the kitchen were top quality, the dorm size refrigerator was a small. We will definitely go back
I thought the property was very nice. We've stayed in a lot of rentals, and the property was worth it's rate!! Tatiana was extrememly helpful when I called to locate a property to rent. The parking was the most annoying issue. At times people would pull in behind our car, making it difficlut to leave when desired. Also, more complete info on how to use the property's heating system would be helpful, although as it turned out we didn't need it. I will definitely use this management company to rent a property from again.
The Ortiz Casita was truly amazing...hard to believe such care has been given to every detail. It was a little interesting finding the specific lodging as it is one of a few in the same area...however, just look for the sign on the door that reads "Ortiz" and you are set. The VRBO outside pictures are from mutliple adobes...the hottub is shared as well as the courtyard. However, if one is looking for Cozy and Comfortable...this place is for you. We loved our stay.
This was our second stay in Casa Ortiz, and I'm sure that we'll return again. It's a quiet, snug retreat with a combined living area/kitchen and a very small bathroom, but the bedroom is spacious and luxurious. We spent much time in the beautifully landscaped communal courtyard. The fireplace and comfortable seating makes it feel like an outdoor living room. Both indoors and outdoors, the property is very well maintained. Our only problem was that the wireless internet connection wasn't working, but everything else was perfect. There are many small, thoughtful amenities that further enhanced the quality of our experience. We give it an A+ rating.
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Casita Ortiz! I loved the way the place was decorated and kept up inside and out. The outside fireplace and hot tub added to the experience. The fride and stove were stainless steel and looked brand new. The furniture appeared to be new as well. When I made the reservation I was told this was one of their smaller units, but it was a perfect size for the two of us and we did not consider it to be small. We only had a couple of very minor issues like the coffee pot not working properly and the closet door not staying on track, but neither of this bothered us or else we would have called the management. I would definitely stay at this place again or recommend it to anybody.
The unit was a little farther from the Plaza area than advertised but that was OK. What I was unprepared for was that the barrio started a block or so from the unit. Overall experience was good, unit was clean. Hard to regulate the temperature but I would probably go back in summer.
Back to a cute little casita I photographed in 2005 ! Good location & nice decor, very cozy. We never did find the tv remote, there's 2 dvd remotes in there however. Hope to come back sometime.

This was our first VRBO experience. We really thought the place was fixed up nice. Our space heater didn't work in the kitchen which made that room rather cold. The inside shower curtain is has a few mold spots on it. There were some used kleenexes under our bed. The bed was comfortable and that room stayed warm with the fireplace.
Directions to property should have been clearer. I arrived after dark and there are a number of rentals at the address and no directions where the rental was. Everything was dark and when I finally found it after calling the property manager The light was off so I had to struggle with the combination lock, very frustrating. Then when I got there the hot water heater was off so there was no hot water and no match on the premises to light the heater pilot, so I had cold water in the morning before I could go out to get a match. It seems this should be straightened out before the guest arrives.
The pictures on this website are NOT Casita Ortiz! This website is a total misrepresentation. It does not look like these pictures at all - these are obviously taken of other units and put on the website to make you think they are pictures of the unit you are booking. Dog hair covered the cushions on the chair, the king bed sagged so the person trying to sleep on the right side of the bed rolled into the middle. There was NOT a sofa bed as their website says - it was a chair with cushions covered in dog hair, and it pulled out to reveal a lumpy, crunchy mattress, and questionable whether the sheets had been changed. The bathtub drained so slowly that when you turned on the water, bugs and hair washed back into the tub from previous bathers. Carpet was stained and dirty. The toilet is in a separate little stall from the tub/shower & sink, so you went to the bathroom in the kitchen, then had to go to a different room to wash your hands. We made reservations to stay 3 nights, and it was so filthy and disgusting that we left after the first night. The owners refused to refund any money, despite their blatant misrepresentations on their website.
